Nevada City, Calif. May 28, 2024 — The first event will be a kickoff event for the Neighbors to Neighbors grant partnership with CA Volunteers. This event will feature food, music, a short presentation, and games. This is a family-friendly event that aims to bring the community together. The intent of the grant is to implement neighborhood programs that are centered around disaster preparedness.

The kickoff event will be held at Seaman's Lodge in Pioneer Park on June 13th at 6:00 pm, don't forget to bring your friends and family along for a fun evening!

The second event is a community workshop for the Nevada City specific Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Public involvement is crucial in the CWPP process to pinpoint risk reduction possibilities using the most up-to-date scientific knowledge and address community priorities for wildfire protection. The workshop will be designed to elicit feedback from the community on wildfire priorities, projects, and concerns.

Join us at Seaman's Lodge the following week, on June 20th at 6:00 pm to share your thoughts and help make our community safer.

Both events require registration through the CA volunteer’s website at:
